SUSAN & WALT, TIM AND TYSON; ST MARYS, GA.

w/ TERRA

Oh, My Gosh!  She is so perfect!  She and Tyson are getting to know each other and she has already established herself as Alfa!  He will play with her right up until she says, " No more!"  And he backs down immediately. He even lets her eat first!  She initiates the play as well, and yips at him to get his attention.

Tim is in love with her incredibly smooshy face; he wants to learn about training her for show....  He just says she is so COOL!  so far not as much calming down time as I would like, but she seems up for the game.  I am watching her behavior, and giving her little extra doses of her soft food to make sure she doesn't get nutritionally depleted.  I know that this, even though it is great fun for all, is also stressful for her little body with so much change all at once, and will look after her appropriately!

She let me trim around her little nose so we can see her gorgeous eyes better (and she really does have extremely long lashes!), and a little later I trimmed her nails; she was perfectly calm, never tried to pull the first paw!

She will snuggle up on my chest and fall asleep for a little bit, but then wants to go exploring her new home again.  She has used her piddle pads for both duties; I have two set out for now in different places until she learns the house and I learn her behavior.  We have Tyson trained to potty outside, and eventually we will move Terra toward that as well, when she is old enough and their potty schedules match better.

I just can't thank you enough for this gorgeous little girl.  She will flip right over in our arms to let us rub her belly, so we do not expect her to try to be Alfa with us - just with the " big" boy!  So sad that Walt is missing the beautiful time in her puppy life.  I have to get my camera in gear!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip, and we will be in touch, I am sure!    ~Susan

Hope you escape the now very foul weather!  I just wanted to say that I love the tip about using a tooth brush for between & around the puppies' eyes!  What a great idea!  I think I will use Walt's.....!!!

BTW, Terra and Tyson are doing great together (no more barking!), and Tyson likes to sleep with one paw over Terra's shoulder!  She's like his little cuddle toy.

Terra and my granddaughter, Layla, have a real connection.  I got some great pictures today.  Layla wants to share all her toys with Terra - it's soooo cute!  Even shares her books (and Layla LOVES her books!) Terra is a little chewer, though, so I have to be careful as Layla is only 10 months old.

Take infinite care, my friends.  Drive safely!

Susan

I just wanted you to see our beautiful little girl now that she is about 5 months old.  She is turning the purest gold, and is perfect in every way.  She is kennel trained, and the strangest irony is that my husband, a submariner, named her Terra Firma (land) and this puppy LOVES the water!  If there is a puddle, she not only walks in it she lays in it and rolls over.  If the ditch is full of water she dives in and even puts her whole head under water....  Hmmmm.  Sailor names dog " land"  and she loves water.....!

She is a delight, and I want to thank you for providing us with this beautiful girl.  Oh, and she's NOT spoiled!!!

Take care,
Susan

KOURTNE w/ 'BELLA REESE'; BELLEVILLE, IL.

Lori & Kevin,  Here are a couple of cute ones I've taken so far.  Did I mention when I brought her home for the first time, she dug right into her dog food!!!  And then we laid down for a nap and she pranced up to me, nudged my wrist and rolled over on her back, stretching both paws in opposite directions, like she was saying "ok, scratch here"...she made it her home from the second she came in!

Send you some pics when we get a Halloween outfit picked out ;)

TOM & AUDREY, TOMMY, NICOLAS AND ANTHONY; ORLAND PARK, IL

w/ 'ROCCO'!

Hi Lori,
We are doing great!!!!! The boys are so happy to have a puppy. Rocco was nervous for about 20 minutes after we left you today.  He seemed hot, tired, confused.  So we let him snuggle with his blanket in a soft dog bed in the car, and he calmed down.  We had a nice quiet car ride home.

We feed him right at 5:00pm, he ate more than half of a 1/2 cup of food mix.  He is pretty tired from all the excitement.  He loved the grass all around the house.  If we weren't sure if he had to go, we went outside just in case.  One poop in the house when we got home.  I had a piddle pad out but I think he didn't know where it was yet.  He was too busy exploring.

His tail is always wagging, he is very playful, and when he is tired we let him rest in the crate.  The boys understand not to bother him in the crate, his safe place.

I'm sure I'll questions after a full day tomorrow.  Thank you so much for such a lovable puppy

 Audrey

Hi Lori,
Mr. adorable is melting all of are hearts.  Rocco is adjusting.  Very perky and tail always wagging.  My boys have been wonderful with Rocco and very respectful of our new pup.  They are letting him have his space.  Rocco likes to sleep in the same room when they play their games or watch TV, but the boys understand not to bother him when he is in one of his beds.  I hope this keeps up because the normal frat party is on hiatis!!!!!!!

We took him to the vet yesterday.  The vet said " he came from a very good litter and is perfect".  We told him, we knew that already.  Mama and Papa Gooch are great breeders.

I have a question about nighttime.  Rocco seems very awake at night.  He cried quieter last night, but pretty much cat napped and sat up watching me try and sleep from the crate (his bed we call it).  I took him out every 2 hours hoping it would be the last time each time.  In between going out to pee he would settle down maybe 30 minutes then sitting up whimpering.  I would say go to bed and rub him with my finger through the cage to stall him or calm him down.  This works for a short time but he seems out of sorts.  What should I do to get a 3 to 4 hour stretch or more of sleep?  Move the crate out of the Room? How long should I expect him to hold it?

Rocco seems to be enjoying our night time tussle, just me and him.  He misses you because he wants me to kiss him like you did.

Audrey

Lori,
Your advise is always so helpful.  Rocco is a superstar this am!!!!!!! He went 6 hours in the crate last night without needing to go out.  We slept. He seems to like his new home.  Just wanted to let you know we are doing better at night.  Take care of your mama, I hope she comes home soon.

ANDREW AND DEIDRA w/ COCOA!; DAHLGREN, IL

Hello Kevin & Lori! Cocoa is doing great! She has us completely in love with her and she is truly a Good Girl! She has only had 1 accident in the house so far and that was my own fault because she had woke up from her nap and instead of taking her out immediately I tried to quickly switch the laundry over and she just couldn't wait. (I knew better)  We have figured out the secret to her sleeping at night. We originally put her in her crate in the dining room and each night she cried a little longer until she began crying all night long. So instead of giving in and letting her sleep in the bed with us we decided to try putting her in her crate in our room and she sleeps like a baby! She just needs to be able to see or hear us and she is fine.

Today is my first day back at work and my sweet mother n law and 4 year old nephew went over at 11am and are going again at 3 pm to let her out to potty and play. I just got the report from them and they said she had no accidents in the crate, pottied outside for them and then chased my nephew around the yard for about 30 minutes! That is why I say she is truly a Good Girl. She is such a sweetie! We are blessed to have her in our family. I will say that I am a little jealous over how much she loves Andy!!! :) I think I need to remind her that I am the one taking her out to potty at 3:30am. lol!!!

I will give her a smooch from you and try to get some pictures your way so you can see how much she is thriving!
Thanks for everything!
God Bless,

Deidra

Here are just a few of the many pics of Cocoa that have been taken! :) Enjoy!

TOM & DAWN AND AMANDA; SANFORD, MI.

w/ MISHU'S RED HOT RUBY of GOOCHIE!

Hello Lori and Kevin,

We have arrived home with our beautiful Goochie puppy you called Jewel.  Her new name is going to be Mishu's Red Hot Ruby of Goochie.

When she arrived  she was dressed in a sweet little dress and she had a beautiful  blanket I bet Lori made.  We are so happy with her.  Tom took pictures of myself and our daughter Amanda.

I can not thank you folks enough for working with me to place this little girl with us.  She is my birthday present as she was born as you know on my birthday
in April.  I have watched her grow and develop on your web site.  Lori has been great about sending pictures and keeping me informed about my baby girl.

I sure would recommend  Lori and Kevin to any Family looking for a top quality Shih Tzu puppy.  We have been breeding for over 30 years and we know quality when we see it and handle it.

I want to send a special thank you to Kevin for going that extra way for shipping her to us today.

She has been playing with all of us and you can tell she has been well taken care of.

I hope that the puppy you pick from us will make you as happy as Ruby has made the Shepherd family.

Your Doggie Friends,

Dawn and Tom Shepherd  of Mishu Shih Tzu  from Michigan
